One of the research activities carried out within the DronSe Laboratory and led by Marco La Salandra, was awarded a special mention for scientific excellence and originality in the category of “Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and High-Performance Computing” at “Premio Giovani Ricercatrici e Ricercatori” organized by Italian scientists that appear on lists of the world’s most cited researchers in the scientific literature (“Gruppo 2003 per la ricerca scientifica”). The proposed research focused on the generation of high-resolution topographic data from UAVs using a photogrammetric workflow that exploits high-performance computing.
